You are dining with business associates from the UK or the US. You have to excuse yourself from the table to attend to some details for your boss or to go to the bathroom.
Even if you only need a moment, wait until between courses before leaving the table. Lay your napkin either on the chair or on the left-hand side of your place setting. Placing it here lets the server know that you will be returning.
